● Location: Clay Space Studio Join us for this one-day deep dive into faceted and altered tea bowls! In this 6-hour, hands-on workshop, professional potter, Dwayne Sackey, walks students through the process of making faceted and altered tea bowls. We will discuss the process and desired aesthetics, and work through techniques necessary to make faceted tea bowls on the potter's wheel. Through lecture, demos and hands-on practice, participants will: - Understand the form, its variations, and inspirations - Learn the process and techniques used to facet and alter - Learn which tools and measurements are helpful - Learn how to trim tea bowls, inside and out - Explore the faceting process beyond the tea bowl form, try to use what we've learned to make something new. There will be a 1 hour break for lunch. Class cost - $150
